23rd Aurora Foundation Anniversary. The 23rd Aurora Founding Anniversary last February 19, 2002 was highlighted with the guesting of DAR Secretary Ernanie A. Braganza who inspired the Aurora Farmers of their support with regards to Agrarian Reform Program in the Province.

Promotion Of High Value Commercial Crops In Aurora

Thru the initiative of the Provincial Governor Ramoncita P. Ong, the Province has embarked on the introduction of high value commercial crops to increase the income of the farmers in Aurora. Gov. Ramoncita P. Ong, SP Socorro Bautista and Mrs. Aida H. Rutaquio of PSWDO awards the checks to child beneficiaries of the educational assistance fund from UNICEF last September 2001. This is part of the PSWDO intervention is assisting them to ensure that they continue their education inspite of their economic difficulties. The amount shall be used in purchasing notebooks, uniform and other school needs. The child receiving is one of the beneficiaries of the programme on "Children In Need of Special Protection".

Hon. Ramoncita P. Ong served as the guest speaker during Graduation Exercises of 20 Out-of-School-Youth last October 11, 2001. With her is Dir. Ponciano Catipon of TESDA. These 20 OSY were provided financial assistance to pursue the special one month course on Automotive mechnic at TESDA. Funds were provided by UNICEF and implemented by PSWDO. Out of 20 graduates two (2) of them passed the trade test given by the same institution.

To continually promote Economic Development, the Provincial Government launched its Spawn and Mushroom Project. This project intends to boost the income of the people.

Gov. Ramoncita P. Ong inspects the mushroom beds at the Aurora Provincial Agricultural Development Center (APADC). It shows that mushrooms are easy to grow and requires very little space.
