Municipal and Sustenance Fishing

As of 2002, there are 1,730 registered fishing boats in Aurora, 945 of which are motorized banca while 785 are non-motorized. The total production in metric ton is reported at 2,379.072 (Table 33).

Fishing Facilities/Equipment

The fishing gears commonly used by fishermen include hook and line, nets trawl, beach seine, spear, gill nets, long line, travel fish net, drift gill nets and cast net.

Commonly caught fish species in the municipal fishing grounds of the province are the following:
