As local chief executive, I am certain I can do more to support our younger generation who are financially poor, but intellectually rich. It is my passion to giove every deserving Auroran the opportunity to have access to education, chart his destiny, and fulfills his dreams”. a. Schools i. Completion 1. 12-CL-2 storey SPED Building (Baler Central School) 2. 8-CL-2 storey School Building (Dingalan National High School) 3. 3-CL School Building (Diego Ortiz Elementary School) 4. 2-CL School Building (Real Elementary School) ii. New Construction 1. Main Gate (Aurora science High School) 2. Roof Extension of Covered Court (MANHS) 3. 8 CL School Building (Calabuanan Elementary School) iii. Repair of Typhoon-Damaged School Buildings 1. Home Economics Building (Baler Central School) 2. Laboratory Building (Dilasag National High School) iv. Hiring of PSB/LSB Teachers/Utility/Guard 1. 10 Permanent Plantilla Positions amounting to Php 4.5 Million annually. 2. 159 teachers, utility workers, and Job Orders amounting to Php 6.3 Million last year. v. Support to School-Based Projects and Activities 1. STEP Competition 2. Sports 3. Gardening 4. Band Instruments 5. Books and reference materials 6. Improvement of classrooms, ground and facilities 7. Training of Teachers/Students 8. Assistance from Senator Joker Arroyo 9. School Supplies for Children b. Scholarship i. Scholarship Programs of the Province of Aurora (SPPA) ii. Scholarship Grant 1. 422 elementary pupils 2. 177 high school students 3. Total Scholarship Grant = Php 273,785.00 iii. Doña Juana Angara Scholarship Foundation 1. 835 scholarship since ASCOT started 2. 97 college students enrolled in ASCOT for S.Y. 2008-2009 with scholarship grant amounting to Php 1.11 Million charged to Php 5.0 Million Scholarship trust account given by BAC. 3. 2,337 Scholars supported by Congressman Sonny in ASCOT (excluding scholars sent to CEU) 4. Seja Scholars in UP.
What to look forward to: Schools are available and accessible to all children of school age in Aurora, Scholarship grants will continue to be given to deserving students so that no child will be deprived of education because of poverty or lack of schools and classrooms. |
